Facebook Places

Who, What, When, and Now...Where

Yesterday Facebook announced their location based API similar to, and working with, other location based services such as Gowalla, foursquare, Yelp and Booyah's InCrowd.

Although its only available in the US right now, it's nice to see is that they’ve integrated it with Open Graph which means (in their words):

Developers can [use] this data in their applications to create a variety of social experiences, such as:

A travel application that gives people the ability to see which of their friends have already been to the place they are visiting

A conference application that makes it easy for attendees to find colleagues and connect with them

An event application that enables attendees to see where their friends are at a concert

Which will add a whole new level of interaction to Facebook apps.
